According to the reports of the World Bank Pakistan has always provided strong protection and assistance to the foreign investors willing to invest large sums in the development of the nation.
In a much broader sense mining includes extraction of petroleum, different natural gases and even water. The technique of mining is divided into two basic types of excavation including surface mining and sub surface mining.
Surface mining includes open pit mining, quarrying, strip mining, placer mining, and mountaintop removal. Sub surface mining includes slope mining, drift mining, hard rock mining, shaft mining, barehole mining, hard rock mining and many other types. Like other countries of world, mining helps in producing many metals and materials in Pakistan. Many important materials are recovered in Pakistan including gypsum, limestone, iron ore, chromites, salt, rock salt, marble gems, marble, copper, coal, graphite, sulphur, fire clay, silica.
In the Punjab province of Pakistan extensive amount of pure salt range is produced. Balochistan province is also another mineral rich area and is rich producer of large amount of mineral, oil and gas reserves. The minings in the province also produce extensive amount of copper, chromite and iron, and pockets of antimony and zinc in the south and gold in the far western side.
